We're wild west winners - Australian champs success

A fairly large Big Foot contingent flew west to compete in the various Australian championships with mixed success.

After the carnival's first day (the West Australian championships) which was wet aqnd windy, the weather settled down and was pretty good, along with the following Big Feet who placed in the top 10:

Winners are grinners. Or maybe its because its stopped snowing.

Alasdair Tutt and Tess Noble knocked over the long course, Alasdair seizing victory from Jackson Bursill as Jackson missed out the last control.

Four Big Foot juniors in the NSW Schools Team

Congratulations to Rebecca, Callum, Alastair & Ewan who have been selected to be members of the NSW Schools Team to compete in the Australian All Schools Championships to be held in WA in September.

Hanny takes number 1 spot

Hanny Alston has overtaken Lizzie Ingham to be number 1 ranked female in the Big Foot Rankings after the leading women made the rest of the competition look pedestrian at the ACT Sprint Championships. Hanny, Lizzie and third-placed Shannon Jones all had outstanding runs on their 2.3km Sprint course, with Hanny and Lizzie both showing continued form improvement as they prepare for WOC.

RouteGadget - now with less caffeine

Jarkko Ryyppö the RouteGadget writer has released a new version that will work without Java and has a heap of nice features.

The Big Foot RouteGadget repository now uses it.

Mt Annan

The Metroleague season started with a bang for The Feet with wins in all 3 Divisions in the searing heat of Mt Annan. Standout performances include Alastair George's 28 mins for the Div 3 course and Daniele Guardini & Greg Barbour taking home the 10 points in Div 2 and Div 1. Looks like selection decisions will be tough for the next round.
