BLUEBOTTLES TRAINING CAMP INVITATION
Venue: Thalgarrah Environmental Education Centre, about 20 minutes from Armidale.

Invitation: You are warmly invited to attend our July Orienteering Training Camp to be held at Thalgarrah Environmental Education Centre from 12th – 16th April, 2024. Arrival will be on Friday 12th July, any time after 4pm. The camp will finish at midday on Tuesday 16th July. This camp is for juniors in Year 6 and above, and will be particularly important for all juniors planning to compete in the Australian Championships. Activities will include Moderate and Hard navigation on terrain somewhat similar to the Australian Championships Carnival.

Accompanying adults are very welcome to come and combine helping out with training for themselves. We will be asking most adults to plan to bring a tent, campervan, camper trailer or caravan, so that we leave most of the dormitories for the juniors.

Accommodation and Food: Will be at the Thalgarrah Environmental Education Centre, about 20 minutes from Armidale. Bedding will be dormitory accommodation and/or camping, and you will need to bring warm sleeping bags and pillows. We will self-cater as a group in the kitchen and there will be a roster for everybody to help out.

Cost: The cost of the camp will be $120 per junior for the whole camp. This will cover accommodation, all food, fuel contribution, map printing and sundries. The cost for adults will be $60 for the whole camp. This will cover accommodation, all food, and map printing. This does not include the cost of transport to and from the camp. Adults assisting with car pool while on the camp will have their petrol costs reimbursed.
