Directions: Travel from Orange - From the intersection of Ophir Road and the Northern Distributor, travel north along Ophir Road. After 3.8 km turn right into Banjo Paterson Way, where there will be an orienteering sign. After 2.8 km Banjo Paterson Way becomes the Lower Lewis Ponds Road. Follow this road a further 16 km to the parking area in the Ophir Reserve. Allow at least 30 minutes travelling time from the centre of Orange. Most of the road is sealed except for the last 15km, which is a good gravel road.

Parking: The parking area is about 2 km inside the Reserve, on the left-hand side of the access road. Grid reference -33.185224, 149.238215. There will be limited space so please park as directed.

Map: Ophir South (1:7,500) The Reserve was first mapped by Eric Andrews for the Easter 3 Days in 1996. The 1:7,500 scale has been chosen for all courses to make it easier to read the fine detail of the mined areas.

Start: The Start is adjacent to the Assembly area and will be a Queuing Start. Start times for the Queuing Start will be from 9:30 am – 11.00 am. Starts will be at 2-minute intervals with a 6-minute start procedure. Names and SI sticks will be checked at the Pre-start, at 2 minutes move to control description collection, then to map boxes. ALL competitors MUST PUNCH the SI units at the Start. There will be a series of countdown beeps. At the last long beep, runners pick up their maps and punch one of the Start units which are in the Start Triangle. Competitors must NOT look at their map before punching the Start unit.

Punching system: SI AIR will be activated with punching Start and Finish.

Course closure: Will be at 2.00 pm.

Facilities: There will be four (4) Portaloos and a urinal.

Assembly: The Assembly area is about 800m north from the parking area along a well-made gravel road. The land each side of this road is OUT OF BOUNDS. Take care as there may be some traffic on the road. This road will be a good area for warming up.

Catering: This will be provided by the NSW Junior Squad. There will be a BBQ with tea, coffee and cool drinks. We hope you will stay on and support them. Go to FOOD as shown on the Assembly area map.
