Big Foot takes Metro League cake(s) for fifth successive year

Big Foot defended their top-grade title for the fifth successive year with a convincing win over one of Garingal's many teams.

A win in Division D was the second succesive win for this team and now captain Miles Ellis worries that it has been too much too soon for this group, as he wrestles with salary cap pressures.

In Division A, Greg Barbour led home the Big Foot charge with able support from Patrik Gunnarrssssoonnn despite both of them losing time at the first control. Patrik was also the overall A grade winner after a series of top places over the year.

In Division D Jo Parr, Richard Lauder and Asta Gunnarsson led home juniors Alastair George and Ewan Shingler. The sub-junior brigade have been key to this teams success for the last few years.

Big Foot president Andy Simpson said that despite the pleasing win, he would still like to see the whole competition be radically over-hauled to reduce the number of leagues, the number of byes and the dead rubbers whilst making it easier for any club member to turn up and compete at a level they thought was appropriate.  An internal white-paper on the proposed reorganisation has been around for some time, waiting for someone with a pen with black (or blue) ink to start writing on it.
