Metro League #4 - Darks Common

Thanks to everybody for coming and some who didn't, particularly Miles Ellis who stepped up at the last moment to plan the courses. The only lost property was a black beanie. A great contrast between the burnt and the unburnt.

All the results you could want to poke a stick at:

NSW Ski-O Championships - 2016

We've been out on the trails (see pic) doing some map corrections - the weather is great, bring suncream. Assembly is at the Nordic Shelter, registration probably in the North Room. Rego should be available from 11 (or whenever the controls are all out, whichever is later). There is a cross country race that starts from 11.30, so expect a degree of confusion.

NOTE: This is a very busy weekend at Perisher. The car park will be full by about 9am, you may have to park on the road and walk. The alternative is to catch the ski tube from Bullocks Flat - it will save you parks fees and hiring chains as well as some traffic.

Tracy wins as boys come nowhere in ANZAC bake-off

Tracy Marsh took out the ANZAC day ANZAC cookie baking competition with Paula Shingler 2nd and Rebecca George 3rd.

The failure of the Big Foot males to get a place on the podium was disappointing but they have resolved to do better next year.

For the record, here is the whole field pre-judging, along with the new holder of the perpetual wooden spoon of victory:

Flying Fergus and Leadfoot Lucy picked for Portugal JWOC

Flying Fergus

Yay !

Big Foot's Lucy and Fergus Mackie have been picked to represent Australia at the World MTBO champs in Portugal in July following on from their performances in recent selection races in Beechhworth when they were riding their first MTBO champs since transferring from Mountain Devils. Lucy picked up a cloth badge at the Easter 3 Days in foot orienteering, but both siblings are more experienced on a bike.

Both will be racing in the junior section of the individuals, with Hamish riding in the senior relay team. Congratulations to both of them.

Results are here and RouteGadget is available here.

Thanks for coming to Summer Series today, we hope that you enjoyed first time planner Chris Firbank's courses. The area next to the start/finish is part of the NW rail project - it will eventually be a ventilation and emergency access point for the completed tunnels.

Lane Cove Rivergaine #2 - new and old Big Feet do well

The NSW 2016 Metrogaine moved downstream, but still in the heart of Big Footy training country for this year's 6 hour. The handy location drew a good Big Foot turnout from members both new and old.
